Yachtmaster  Ocean ~ Ocean Passagemaker

Yachtmaster Ocean:  Ocean Passagemaker  (500 mile course to cover a minimum of 200 miles while more than 50 miles offshore).

International Certificate of Competency Yachtmaster Ocean (Sail)

  

The holder is certified as the skipper and navigator, to be responsible for the safety of his/her vessel and crew for ocean passages, where navigational and weather hazards exist, in any conditions, at any time day or night.

This is a live aboard course in tidal waters. Candidates must stand a rotational navigational watch as skipper, or watch-captain for the duration of the course.


Pre-requisites:I

International Certificate of Competency Yachtmaster Offshore, Yachtmaster Ocean Ashore certificate. Standard First Aid including CPR.  2500 miles logged, SSB Radio.


Shorebased courses.

International Certificate of Competency, Astro/Celestial navigation completed by classroom correspondence or home study. Approximately 40 hours of study.
